Pacquiao always have some new tactics in every boxing match he fought. The ability to determine the opponents movement and the ability to throw punches in every open angle is Pacquiao’s expertise. Fred Roach may also be credited because of the knowledge he shared to Manny which boost this kind of talent, but to do this application is another thing. Roach had train a lot of boxers, but some of them don’t have it, even if they have the built, the speed and the size. They are good boxers but they don’t know how to win a war. Before Pacquiao became the Pound for Pound King, at his early career in boxing he was this slugger type of guy, but already have the tactics to win a fight. He always uses his left hand to throw punches and his right hand as a balancer, though his not that complete fighter yet, he has the heart and the tactics to win a fight. He has the style to interrogate opponent’s defense and has the eye to determine when to knock opponents down. The early age to enter the boxing business is what made Pacquiao today. If you watch his early fights, you will see that he already has the techniques and you will see how Manny became tough fighter……
The first fight with Morales was Pacquiao’s real challenge, he was not prepared to the fighting skills Morales have. But then Pacquiao has adopted the technique of Morales, if the fight has extended to round 13, Morales could have been knockdown. Pacquiao was trying to catch up on the last roun,that he almost knocked Morales down. Unfortunately Manny loosed, but he redeemed his self when they fought again. The Pacquiao vs Morales II match was too easy for Manny, he showed how to attack the weakness of Morales. The 3rd match was also easy for Manny Pacquiao, he can read the attack of Morales easily. That’s how Manny Pacquiao became Pound 4 Pound King, he knows that he has a lot of things to learn even if his top on the game…..
Manny Pacquiao is considered a Hero in the Philippines, they call him “Pambansang Kamao” or National Fist. Filipino’s rejoice every time he comes back from a bout with a victory, it’s like a holiday, because of the parade and celebration’s in the street.
One of my favorite tactic or style Pacquiao had done is the “Scorpion Punch”, he used this against Marquez…..okay, I just made up the title… but it really looks like an attack of a scorpion. Pacquiao bowed in order to avoid the punch of Marquez, while he threw a punch above his body and head…….
And so… the fight of Pacquiao and Cotto is on November 14, 2009 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Do you know what kind of tactic Pacquiao will use against Cotto? The answer will be revealed on Nov.14……can’t wait huh…
